。Half life data
The reactivity of an organic peroxide is usually given by its half life (t1/2) at various
temperatures. For LQ-EHPC in chlorobenzene:
t 0.1 hr 1 hr 10 hr
at 83℃ 64℃ 47℃
。Storage
LQ-EHPC Ts max. = -15℃ and
Ts min. = -25℃ to prevent crystallization
。Packaging and transport
The standard packaging is a 25-liter HDPE can for 20 kg peroxide solution. Both packaging and
transport meet the international regulations.
LQ-EHPC is classified as Organic peroxide type D; liquid, temperature controlled; Division
5.2; UN 3115; PG II.
Rail (RID) and air (ICAO-TI/IATA-DGR) transport are forbidden.
。Major decomposition products
Carbon dioxide, 2-Ethylhexanol
。Application
Polymerization of ethylene
LQ-EHPC is an efficient initiator for the ethylene polymerization under high pressure in both autoclave and tubular processes. To obtain a wide spectrum of polymerization temperatures, combinations with other peroxides are applied in practice.
Polymerization of vinylchloride
LQ-EHPC is applied as an initiator for the suspension and mass polymerization of vinylchloride in the temperature range between 40°C and 65℃.
