According to chemical composition, oxidants can be divided into oxidants and Organic peroxides.

(1) Oxidants mainly include the following types of compounds.

Peroxide: such as Sodium peroxide, hydrogen peroxide, etc.

High valence Oxyacid of chlorine and its salts: such as Perchloric acid, Potassium perchlorate, Potassium chlorate, etc.

Nitrate: such as Potassium nitrate, Ammonium nitrate, etc.

Permanganate: such as Potassium permanganate, Sodium permanganate, etc.

Peroxy acid salts: such as Ammonium persulfate, Sodium perborate, etc.

High priced metal salts: such as Sodium dichromate.

High valence metal oxides: such as Chromium trioxide, Lead dioxide, etc.

Sodium peroxide alias: double Sodium oxide, Sodium oxide Molecular formula: Na2O2

Physical and chemical properties: beige powder or particles, which turn yellow after heating and have hygroscopicity; Exposed in the air, it can absorb moisture and release oxygen; It will react strongly with water to generate sodium hydroxide and hydrogen peroxide, the latter will quickly decompose into water and oxygen, and emit a lot of heat; This product has strong corrosiveness and oxidation; Relative density 2.80 (water is 1), melting point 460 ℃ (decomposition). Mainly used in pharmaceuticals, printing and dyeing, bleaching, and analytical reagents.

Hazard characteristics: It is a strong oxidant; Contact with organic and flammable substances such as sulfur and phosphorus can cause combustion or even explosion; Reacts violently with water, generates high temperatures, and can explode in large quantities; Has strong corrosiveness.

Fire extinguishing agents: dry sand, dry soil, dry stone powder; Water, carbon dioxide and foam are prohibited.

Storage and transportation precautions: The packaging must be completely sealed and cannot be stored in the open air; The warehouse should be dry with a relative humidity of less than 75%; Strictly separate and store organic substances, reducing agents, and flammable substances such as sulfur and phosphorus, and do not mix and transport them; It is not suitable to carry on rainy days to prevent dampness; When transporting, it should be loaded and unloaded lightly to maintain the integrity of the packaging; Leaks should be collected in sealed containers for disposal.

(2) Organic peroxides are organic substances with peroxy group (- O-O -) in their molecular composition, which are flammable, explosive, easy to decompose and extremely sensitive to heat, vibration and friction.

Peracetic acid (content ≤ 43%) alias: Peracetic acid; Peracetic acid Molecular formula: CH3COOOH

Physical and chemical properties: Colorless liquid. Has a strong pungent odor. Easily soluble in water, ethanol, ether, and sulfuric acid. Relative density 1.15 (water is 1), melting point 0.1 ℃, boiling point 105 ℃, flash point 41 ℃. Generally, 35% and 18%~23% Peracetic acid solutions are used as commodities. Used for bleaching, disinfectants, catalysts, oxidants, and epoxidation.

Hazard characteristics: pure Peracetic acid is extremely unstable and will explode at -20 ℃; If the concentration exceeds 45%, it is explosive; There is a risk of combustion and explosion due to the presence of metal ions or their contact with reducing agents, accelerators, organic substances, and combustibles; Unstable in nature, gradually decomposing during storage, releasing oxygen; Flammable, it decomposes violently when heated to 100 ℃, and can burn and explode when exposed to a fire source; Has strong corrosiveness.

Extinguishing agent: spray water, carbon dioxide, foam.

Precautions for storage and transportation: less than 40% of Peracetic acid can be stored in a warehouse with a temperature not exceeding 30 ℃, preferably in a cold storage with a temperature of about 0 ℃; Keep away from flames and heat sources, and store away from light; It should be stored in separate warehouses with reducing agents, ammonia, alkali, flammable substances, sulfur, phosphorus, etc; During transportation, it should be loaded and unloaded with care, and the packaging should be kept intact to prevent dust from falling into and accelerating decomposition; Not suitable for long-term storage; Wash and dilute the leaked material with a large amount of water.
